Why a separate log-in?

A quick look...

Heis Soma is your one-and-done entry point into The Christian Chain's ministry sites. With this log-in system, you can access all of our programs without having to worry about multiple passwords.

You can read more about us on our About Us page.

What made you want to build your own log-in system?

This is what we do...

Our mission is to provide actionable ministry resources and programs that cross denominations and distance, connecting people to people, churches to churches, and the world to Jesus Christ.

With our growing number of ministry resources and websites, we found the need to allow our members to login with a single login system. But many of those already out there have started collecting data of their users and selling that data to 3rd parties.

You can read more about us on our About Us page.

How do I know my information is safe?

Unlike other log-ins, we don't track your activity, and your information will never be sold for third party advertising - which means you're free to explore and focus on the ministries we offer, and the work the Holy Spirit is calling you to do.

Here is our Privacy Policy page for you to see how we secure information.

Why the funny name?

The meaning behind 'Heis Soma'.

In the original Greek, heis soma (εἷς σῶμα) means "one body."

εἷς heis (hā's) one; single one 1
σῶμα sōma (sō'-mä) body; flesh; self 2

This phrase is used multiple times within the New Testament referring to how the Church is, or should be, united as one body with many members. (Romans 12:4 & 5; 1 Corinthians 10:17, 12:12 & 13 & 20; Ephesians 2:16, 4:4; Colossians 3:15)

The reason that we chose Heis Soma as the name for this site is as a reflection of being one body. Through this system, our members are able to have one password as a central point of login for the various ministries of The Christian Chain; though there are plans to open this login system to other ministries, churches and Christian resources in the future.

What are your plans for the future?

Here's a short list of what we have envisioned for the future of this project.

01/18/2019
The Idea
This idea first came to mind as we started to see the need to develop our resources to allow members to login and interact with the project. We did not want our members to have to have a unique login for each site, nor did we want to use a 3rd party service that may use our member's data for other purposes. So, the answer was to develop a global login system.

Begin coding a Global Login
We set to work immediately on developing the foundation for what would later become Heis Soma. We researched using a 3rd party to act as the housing unit for our login, but realized that was not financially feasible. So, we utilized our technology strength to develop this system.

Launch Site
It was a slow process as there was no rush to have it launch immediately. But, because of the slow process, the code base had to be updated constantly to meet the newest technology out there for security and enhancements. Then in June 2020, after receiving a grant to help us grow our ministries quickly, the need to launch this resource was brought to the forefront. Through a grant for AWS services, we were able to setup Heis Soma on the scalable AWS platform which adds security and functionality as we grow at a reduced cost or even 100% waived cost.

Connect to first Web Application
We launched a beta test of our site Prayer Nook, which incorporated this login system.
Fall 2021
Plan for the Future
We will begin to integrate this login system into our main site, as well as our other ministry sites, Samaritan Bags, Partners in Unity and Unity Accord.
Spring 2022
Create and Test API
We plan on developing an API for other ministries and Christian websites to be able to use to incorporate Heis Soma as their login system.
Summer 2022
Welcome 3rd Party Usage
After testing this API with a few select 3rd Party partners, and verifying that it will function well, we will begin release to other organizations in waves.
